“And what is fifty miles of good road? Little more than half a day’s journey. Yes, I call it a very easy distance.” – Jane Austen

Chiang Mai, Thailand – 2010
Travel Anecdotes and Suggestions – We have done a lot of traveling recently and are currently living in Japan. We will leave the travel advice to the Lonely Planet writers and Rick Steves, our goal is to provide real world accounts of experiences. Experiences that you may think, “I’d like to try that…” or, “Oh my…I will definitely avoid that.” I always feel like travel websites gush and ooze about all these exotic locations and activities and when you get there they just are not what you had in mind.
Teaching overseas – We are currently teaching English in Japan. There are a ton of resources out there if this is something you want to research. In fact, there is probably too much information that its hard to know what is worth trusting. Our personal experiences with preparation and actually going we will share. Hopefully the information will be useful to those also seeking to follow this particular life adventure.
Love and Travel – Traveling has been known to bring couples closer together and to drive them apart. Travel is a high stress environment and can often lead to disagreements. We are not experts in relationship psychology or couples counseling and would never claim to be. This section is just a collection of stories told from two perspectives. The insight at the very least should help couples looking for advice, common ground and helpful anecdotes about traveling with a significant other.
